Is SHCS a registered charity?

Yes. SHCS is a UK Registered Charity (No. 1197115).

What tax benefit do individual donors get?

Donations may be eligible for Gift Aid, allowing the charity to reclaim tax on qualifying donations. Higher rate taxpayers can claim back 20-25% via Self Assessment.

What about business donations?

Limited companies may deduct charitable donations from taxable profits for Corporation Tax purposes, subject to HMRC guidelines.

What is an interest-free loan?

Disclaimer: This appeal is issued on behalf of Sanatan Hindu Cultural Society (SHCS). All funds raised form part of the charity's general funds and will be applied by the Trustees in furtherance of the charity's objects. Any property purchase is subject to funds being secured and successful completion of the bidding and legal process. If this particular purchase does not proceed, funds raised will be applied towards a future opportunity supporting the charity's objectives. Interest-free loans are subject to separate formal legal agreements approved by the Trustees.

Planning Use Clarification: Use as a place for public worship and religious instruction is evidenced by registration records shared by the Trustees of the Clifton Hall Gospel Hall Trust, including registration of the Property as a place of religious worship at Somerset House in June 1936 and as a building for the solemnisation of marriages in 1974. In addition, a Statement of Truth shall be provided via solicitors (at the time of completion) confirming continuous use for public worship and religious instruction since its construction in 1936, together with original registration documents evidencing such use.
